CEP Summer Camp 2012 – Coming Soon!

Founded by parents in 1979, The Children’s Enrichment Program is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide recreational services, cultural experiences, emotional, and social support to children with special needs and their families.

Summer Camp is held at one of the Washington Township Elementary schools each July. Financial assistance is available through scholarships to any Washington Township family who would not otherwise be able to participate.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2011

A total of 126 children came to camp in July of 2011.
38 volunteer counselors gave 1,612 hours of service.
We launched our Counselor-In-Training program!
Classes offered included cooking, arts & crafts, music & drama, indoor and outdoor sports and computers. New for 2011 was the addition of sports skills classes. These classes were the Gold Award project for a local Girl Scout. Thank you Michelle!! Our campers had fun and gained a better understanding of field hockey, soccer and flag football.
We attended 3 field trips; to the Morris Museum, to Bowcraft Amusement Park and to the movie theater.
We employed a Special Education Certified Program Director, 8 teachers (5 of whom are also Special Education Certified), and 7 paid counselors. We are so grateful to the dedication and service of our employees who return year after year. This continuity is part of why our camp program operates so smoothly and keeps families returning each year.
We were awarded $5,000.00 from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs ROID Grant Program.

Summer Camp

We provide a 4-week, half-day summer camp program to children, ages 3 and up, who are classified by the Washington Township School District as needing special education and/or related services and their siblings. Our camp offers students an opportunity to volunteer.

We Need Your Help!

We need interested adults to help us continue and grow these programs. We are a 30 year old 501(c)(3) organization with a history of great programs and the potential to do even more. If your child has benefited from our camp please consider paying it forward by volunteering.
